Philip “Phil” Crosson is Chief of Police with the Chatham Borough Police Department and has been with that agency since 1992 when he began his career with the agency as a dispatcher. Phil has served and supervised in all functions of the agency to include patrol, traffic, community services, investigations, internal affairs and administration. Phil also served as the first accreditation manager for the Chatham Borough Police Department when the agency pursued national accreditation through C.A.L.E.A.
Phil earned his Bachelor of Arts and Master of Administrative Science Degrees from Fairleigh Dickinson University. Furthermore, he holds post graduate certifications from Fairleigh Dickinson University in Law & Public Safety Administration and Administrative Science. Phil is also a graduate of the West Point Command and Leadership Program. He has attended the NJSACOP Police Executive Institute and holds a Certified Chief Law Enforcement Executive certification. Phil is an active member of the Morris County Association of Chiefs of Police and the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police. Phil is assigned to the board of directors as the NJSACOP representative.
