Professional Certification Programs
 

Accreditation is the proof an organization puts forward as their evidence of their continual pursuit of excellence; achieved by abiding with a set of professional standards and opening their operations to an independent audit.  Accreditation is an ongoing process that requires an agency be involved, dedicated, and relentless with the compliance of best practices.  Best practices not only embodies themselves in a formal accreditation program it is present in an organization’s everyday discretionary operations as well.  This hard work and formal dedication to excellence is recognized by the coalition’s Board of Directors through two professional certification / credentialing programs: the Chief Law Enforcement Officer Certification Program and the Accreditation Manager Certification Program.



Chief Law Enforcement Officer Certification Program Requirements


The applicant must have been the duly appointed Chief Law Enforcement Officer for the duration of the accreditation self-assessment period or the accreditation cycle.

The applicant’s organization must not have been assisted in any way by a paid consultant.

The applicant must have been actively involved in their agency’s accreditation program for the duration of the accreditation self-assessment period or the accreditation cycle.

The applicant must have committed their agency, through appropriate personnel, to helping other organizations with their accreditation programs for a period of at least one (1) year with verifiable results.

The successful candidate will be conferred with the professional designation “C.A.”

 

Accreditation Manager Certification Program Requirements


The applicant must have completed New Accreditation Manager training with their accrediting body.

The applicant must have completed advanced Accreditation Manager training with Coalition.

The applicant must have been the lead Accreditation Manager, or co-accreditation manager, who was responsible for performing all of the following:

  • Writing organization policy in compliance with their accreditation program’s standards.

  • Assembling proofs of compliance to affirm their organization’s ability to perform to the level required of an accredited agency.

  • Assembling accreditation files, either paper or electronic, that were assessed by an accrediting body and found to be acceptable, in compliance, and worthy of accredited status, without any conditions.

  • The above work cannot have be assisted in any way by a paid consultant.

The applicant must have completed Compliance Officer Training with the Coalition

The applicant must have successfully performed at least five (5) pre-assessment file reviews for an agency in their accreditation program.

The applicant must have successfully performed at least two (2) facility inspections for an agency in their accreditation program.

The successful candidate will be conferred with the professional designation “C.M.”

 

Application Process:


Applicants are requested to complete one of the applications below.  Once completed the applicant can either email the completed application or he/she may mail it through the United States Postal Service. Both addresses are located below.  Applications will not be considered complete unless they are accompanied by all supporting material. Upon approval of their application, recipients will receive a personalized certificate authenticating their professional credential.

The application process is Free for applicants from member agencies, in good standing. Applicants from non-member agencies will be charged a $149 application processing fee. Below are the two (2) applications. If you have any questions please feel free to contact us.
