Membership Application
The New Jersey Public Safety Accreditation Coalition (NJPSAC) is a nonprofit, non-governmental coalition whose membership consists of law enforcement agencies, training academies, and public safety communication centers interested or participating in professional accreditation. NJSPAC was founded to provide guidance and assistance to public safety agencies pursuing professionalism through accreditation as awarded by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA), and the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police (NJSACOP). From its inception, NJPSAC has continued to represent the interests of New Jersey and New York public safety agencies by:

• Promoting and assisting with the adoption of quality policies and procedures.

• Providing guidance, information and direct assistance to member agencies participating in the CALEA and NJSACOP accreditation programs, including organizing and conducting mock on-site accreditation assessments.

• Serving as a forum for the generation of ideas and exchange of information on accreditation and a wide range of other contemporary law enforcement topics.

• Serving as a voice and liaison with CALEA and NJSACOP.

Please complete all the form fields below and press submit when done. When your application is received you will be contacted by your region’s vice president and invoiced for your first year’s membership dues. Membership dues are used to cover the costs associated with coalition administration, training, and public safety accreditation promotion. If you have any questions about this application, types of memberships or the Coalition in general please call the Coalition’s Executive Director at 908-235-1999. Thank you for your interest in our coalition and in seeking professionalism through accreditation.

Memorandum of Understanding

This section and the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) only applies to the Agency Seeking Accreditation Membership. As you will come to learn the New Jersey Public Safety Accreditation Coalition is a comprehensive network of Accreditation Managers who help each other progress through and excel in the self-assessment phase of accreditation. The help your agency will be receiving in the months and years to come is the direct result of other member agencies that were helped and mentored by senior Coalition members. We will ask that your agency return this favor for other new accreditation managers and agencies when you become accredited.

In order to join the Coalition as an Agency Seeking Accreditation Membership, along with this membership application, the agency’s CEO and Accreditation Manager will be required to agree to read and agree to the Memorandum of Understanding. This MOU outlines and clarifies just what is expected of your agency and your accreditation manager throughout the accreditation self-assessment process and when you become accredited. While it is agreed that this MOU is not legally binding on a member agency it does stand as a membership agreement and your cooperation is strongly needed to make accreditation in New Jersey and New York a success. Please have your CEO and Accreditation Manager click on the link below to read the MOU.

By checking YES below, the CEO and Accreditation Manager acknowledge that they have both read the MOU and agree to the membership rules as outlined within:
